A Message from Board Member Cathy Harding
Thanksgiving is always a time to reflect on the many things we are thankful for. This Thanksgiving we considered that very thing and realized that the KCK Women’s Chamber Foundation had 13,059 things to be thankful for this year. That is the number of dollars raised at our annual Purses with a Purpose fundraiser last month to support non-traditional women further their educations.
Mostly, though, we thank those of you who participated in this year’s event in many different ways: By donating purse packages for the auction, by donating items for our raffle, for volunteering, for attending, for bidding, for being a sponsor. The list of reasons to give thanks is long, and not taken lightly. For those who attended our event and had the privilege of hearing two of our recent scholarship winners talk about your impact through Purses with a Purpose participation, you received another heartfelt thanks from women whose lives you’ve touched. You literally changed people’s lives by your participation.
As we approach the end of another year, let’s all asks ourselves how we can again positively impact women’s lives in 2024. The first step to positively impact people’s lives is to get involved, and the KCK Women’s Chamber Foundation stands ready to help with that effort.
