AAPC Virtual Meeting-Medical Malpractice and the Importance of Documentation
The local chapter of the AAPC is hosting a virtual meeting on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, from 6-7:15PM.

The speaker will be Katie Theodorakis, Risk Manager for Norcal Group. Katie will discuss medical malpractice - what it is and what needs to be proven. She will talk about the importance of documentation and the problems that come up during litigation such as copy and paste, note bloat and incomplete documentation. 1 CEU will be provided.

HNFS updates billing guidance for TRICARE telemedicine services
Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) recently published  updated guidance  for physicians billing for telemedicine services provided to TRICARE enrollees. The guidance directs providers to bill the place-of-service (POS) code that represents the location from which the provider rendered the telemedicine visit to the TRICARE enrollee. For example, providers should bill POS 11 if the telemedicine services are rendered from the provider's office. The exception to this is for Applied Behavioral Health claims, which will continue to require the appropriate telemedicine modifier and POS 02 (telehealth) for all telemedicine claims. More...
