At KC Shepherd's Center, we advocate for public policy and funding to support older adults, embedding the voice of the older adult in self-advocacy. This week, we are asking you to contact Missouri lawmakers to show your support for property tax relief for older adults and people with disabilities in Missouri.

On Wednesday, February 19th, the Missouri Senate Committee on Economic Development and Tax Policy will hear multiple property tax-related bills, including a proposal to expand the Missouri Property Tax Credit (Circuit Breaker). This bill will modernize the tax credit by increasing income eligibility limits and credit amounts to reflect the rising cost of housing and property taxes. It will also ensure the credit remains relevant by indexing it to inflation, preventing future stagnation.
