There is a dental clinic in Beattyville, KY
this weekend, October 8 & 9
and they are in dire need of a licensed dentist!
Please help!
My name is Brooke Faulkner, a general dentist in Northern Kentucky. I’m involved with a dental mission clinic in Beattyville, KY that is in need of volunteers for their upcoming fall session, October 8th and 9th. Kentucky requires at least one dentist there be licensed from our state and I am not able to attend this session (most dentists that come to this event are from Virginia). Please read below for more information if you are interested:
-Kentucky Mountain Mission is a Christian organization
-The mission event is held in a gymnasium at Youth Haven Bible Camp (an outreach of Kentucky Mountain Mission)
- around 15 fully operating dental chairs
- around 200 patients over the weekend are seen for cleanings, fillings, and extractions.
**You do have to bring your own instruments and supplies.
-If you do not have an assistant, there’s usually always someone there to help.
-Meals are provided.
-Volunteers are there to sterilize your instruments.
-Private rooms can be provided for dentists
-We’d love to have you there for both days, but if one day is more convenient for you, that would be great too!
-Liability insurance covers all volunteers
This clinic is run very well, they have been doing it since about 2010. It’s a great opportunity to help the underserved in Kentucky.
If you cannot volunteer, we would greatly appreciate restorative and OS instrument donations, supplies, etc.
