Why should someone support KDB?  KDB focuses on keeping Denton beautiful and healthy with trees, flowers and native vegetation, and that has a tremendous positive impact on our quality of life as Dentonites.  A beautiful city is also of utmost importance to our tourism industry, because people like to go to pleasant and welcoming places...KDB makes me proud because it helps make Denton one of those places.

September's Yard of the Month WinnersYOTM
626 Magnolia - The Borths

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Borth planted this magnificent Live Oak when they moved here 43 years ago. It got much bigger than Garden Advisor, Neil Sperry said it would. Perhaps underground springs are helping keep this specimen so robust. A lovely spot to sit in the shade and enjoy the beauty of this neighborhood, which is populated by many current and retired educators.

2600 Sheraton - Jean Greenlaw

Jean, a long-time KDB supporter and former board member, put the beds in two years ago with her son, Jared's, help. She says she has the knowledge and Jared does the work! She uses DynoDirt and DynoSoil. Caladiums are her favorite because they make the yard pop! Her neighbors frequently call to tell her how much they like her yard, and we understand why!

1405 Wilderness - Brent and Rosario Bradford

The Bradfords enjoy doing yard work! The red/orange plant in their yard is a Mexican Redbird of Paradise. He transplanted it from Austin and wasn't sure it would live through the winter. But each year it has come back and gotten larger and larger!

2805 Hilcroft - Kevin Kneeling

Kevin has lived in the home for about 14 years. Due to the shade trees, grass was difficult to grow, but not wanting to get rid of the trees, he found a way to get some grass planted. Planting native and adaptive plants and flowers has been his goal. He uses DynoSoil to help get his yard growing!

801 Pickney - Luce

She and her sons enjoy working in the yard and all the pretty flowers. Her large trees provide plenty of shade on hot days, so why not add some beautiful flower beds around them?!
