Dear KEEP community,

KEEP has several kits, including a NEW Solar Tilt Kit to engage your learners in Energy explorations this year! Kits include fun hands-on tools, lessons linked to standards and are free for educators to borrow. Kits may be requested for up to four weeks at a time and most can be shipped to your school (all can be picked up from the WCEE office at UWSP).

Kits available to be shipped:

NEW - Solar Tilt Kit:

This kit includes instruments that will help students and educators develop an understanding of how solar panels can be used to generate electricity and how a variety of factors like the angle of the sun, the angle of the solar panel, cloud cover can impact the amount of electricity generated.

Wind Kit:

The wind kit helps students understand how wind is formed and used as an energy source by investigating how it works and generates electricity. Students can explore how to measure wind speed and direction and be met with challenges, like choosing optimum blades for a turbine by collecting and analyzing data from multimeters.

Hand-crank Generator:

Students can use their cranking power to discover how much energy it takes to light up incandescent and LED bulbs. It is a great way to initiate conversations about energy use and efficiency!
