Dear KEEP community,

With policies like the extension of the federal investment tax credit on residential solar that congress passed in August, there is no time like now to prepare our youth for a clean energy future. KEEP has many opportunities this fall for educators and students to boost their skills in renewable energy, explore career opportunities here in Wisconsin and find funding for school renewable energy projects.

KidWind Challenge Educator Workshop

The Wisconsin Energy Institute and KEEP are joining together again to bring the KidWind Educator Workshop to you! Join us and learn how to explore the power of wind and solar with your students! Participants will review energy and electricity basics, design and test blades in a wind tunnel, use KEEP's newest lending resource, Solar Tilt Kits, and preview ready-to-use energy lessons and activities.

During this half-day workshop, participants will learn about the annual WI KidWind Challenge and gain tips and tricks for coaching student teams through the process of designing and constructing small-scale turbines. Educators will leave with the resources and confidence to use renewable energy as a lens for hands-on science, technology, and engineering exploration in the classroom (and you'll get some free gear, too)!

KidWind and KEEP Solar Tilt Kits are recomended for 4-12th grade students. Certificates of attendance and substitute reimbursement to school districts (up to $150/educator) will be provided upon request.

Date: October 19 | 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Location: Eau Claire Boys & Girls Club
