June 23-25 - MREA Energy Fair - Custer

KEEP will be at the MREA's annual Energy Fair in June. The Fair is a place to celebrate and explore renewable energy and sustainable living. Each year the Fair brings 11,500+ attendees together to learn about clean energy and connect with others.

June 27 - WAAE Professional Development Conference - Oshkosh

The 2023 WAAE Professional Development Conference will be held June 25-29, 2023.


On June 27, from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., be sure to attend the KEEP-led half-day field trip to Allen Farm Biodigester and UW-Oshkosh Environmental Research and Innovation Center (ERIC).

July 17-19 - Summer Institute for Climate Change - virtual

KEEP is accepting scholarship applications for Wisconsin K-12 formal and non-formal educators to attend the Summer Institute for Climate Change, hosted by Climate Generation. KEEP and DPI are co-leading the Wisconsin Cohort Day on July 19.


Apply for one of 20 scholarships by May 12. ($250 value)


Priority consideration for teams of educators from the same school and those teaching under-represented communities of Wisconsin.

July 20 - $250 stipend available - Building Energy Modeling - Sketchbox as a teaching tool - virtual

Join guest facilitator Jim Reichling, in collaboration with Slipstream engineers, to explore how students can build an energy model and analyze impacts of energy efficiency technologies in buildings.


This workshop introduces Sketchbox, a free building energy modeling tool that is available at no cost to schools, can run from a Chromebook, and uses a web interface.


The app is ideal for student exploration of building science careers: architecture, building operations, engineering, facility management, and sustainability.

July 26 - Wisconsin School Forest Summit - Merrill

LEAF, Wisconsin's K-12 Forestry Education Program, will hold a 2-day School Forest Summit at the 748-acre Nels P. Evjue Merrill School Forest from Tuesday, July 25 through Wednesday, July 26. 


Learn how solar panels work at KEEP's Wednesday, July 26 session by exploring a lesson that uses the Solar Tilt Kit to generate electricity, and discussing the importance of installed renewable energy as an important climate change solution that school districts can use to support student learning.
