Dear Friends and Neighbors,

You can feel it in the air. The days are hotter, the humidity is heavy, and there’s a rainstorm every afternoon. Yes — summer is here.

With the change in temperature comes a change in traffic. For those of us who brave the Florida summers, the silver lining is that we now own our roads, restaurants are happy to see us, and there are no long lines at theaters.

Let’s savor the summer, especially this one, and let's remember to be gentler with each other as we move a little slower, and drink a lot more water!

Your Friend, Neighbor and Commissioner,

Maria Sachs

TEST: Do the names Milton, Frances, Jeanne and, of course, Andrew, all ring a bell to you?

If you answered yes, then you are a REAL "Floridian"; These are names of past hurricanes.

As Floridians, we know that the best way to weather any hurricane is PREPARATION.

With this in mind, the Office of Commissioner Sachs proudly introduces a new concept for hurricane data: "CYCLOPEDIA."

We invite you to explore this exciting new digital tool for historical data on past weather patterns: https://storm-cyclopedia.com.
