KEY BISCAYNE AND BEYOND!!!

,

Happy Spring!!!

Welcome to the March Issue of Key Insights Newsletter.

My father, Federico Padovan, moved our family (including grandparents) here in 1973. I was raised  on the Island and left briefly to earn a BFA degree at NYU. But my heart never left Key Biscayne. So I returned to my Island Paradise home where I am raising 4th generation Key Biscayners with my husband Donnie Hall.

As a life-long resident and Realtor on Key Biscayne, I love sharing upcoming events and Interesting activities offered around our community for the residents and frequent visitors of our Island  Paradise and beyond.

We also have three very lovely contributors adding their Insights as well!

Miami kicks off BBQ season for the whole family with Grillin N Chillin, the Miami BBQ Festival held in the heart of Wynwood. Celebrating its 3rd anniversary, come watch as we reinvent our Arts District location overnight into a full-blown countryside barbecue. Whether you're craving backyard BBQ'd spare ribs, a southern brisket or a mouthwatering pulled pork sandwich topped with a homemade BBQ sauce, Grillin N Chillin has the best sun kissed recipes from across the country. BBQ, beer, sides and dessert are available all day long from variety of different vendors! South Florida's premier pit masters take the stage at The Kitchen Lab to share their secrets and bring out the BBQ chef in all of us. Watch as they smoke up the competition at the Grillin N Chillin BBQ Cook Off. Kids' activities will fire up the morning in the Family Fun Zone with obstacle courses, face painting, inflatables and more. At 12pm, live music and bands take the stage! Adults can enjoy beer and cocktails at The Pit, our pop - up music lounge. As the name suggests, the event offers a chill atmosphere where even your dogs can play in their own playground.

GIVING BACK!!!
From March 18 to March 25, 2017, Key Biscayne residents Geysa Guarconi, Carla Conti, Mirelle Volka and Ines Lozano went to Ile-a-Vache, Haiti to visit Ecole du Village, the school sponsored by Flying High for Haiti. They went to visit the houses that FHFH rebuilt after the hurricane and brought them donations of bedding, clothes and money for the orphanage with 90 children that have disabilities. They also donated 100 solar puffs since the community does not have electricity. An analysis of the next houses that have to be reconstructed was made.

FANTASTIC NEW BOOK
"NOT BUYING IT"
Every Parent Should Read This Book!
Most parents will do just about anything to secure happy lives and bright futures for their kids. Add in competition with other parents and near-constant pressure, their drive to give their kids the best of everything can backfire, setting back the child  and  the household finances.

Reflect and Recharge

Spring is the time for renewal.  It is the time to "plant the seeds" of growth and change. Take time to reflect on your life and find the direction you want to take. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

1) Appreciate what you have, do not focus on what you don't have.
2) Build on what is good and positive in your life.
3) See the obstacles and difficulties as opportunities.
4) Get out of your comfort zone, that is where real growth takes place.
5) Do not allow fear to cause inaction, go for it!

Do not let your battery of life run out....Recharge!

Inner Universe
Raising the vibration of the planet
One inspiration at a time

Observe v. Absorb

As individuals with our own set of tastes and desires, it is so easy to judge other people and their own choices and actions. We all do it to an extent, either vocally or to ourselves, while some are more flagrant than others. We can't help but have our own belief about some else's choices and that's a natural habit to some extent. However, who are we truly serving when we begin to judge other people with conviction? This adjudicating only separates us further from one another.
Try practicing what I like to call observing v. absorbing. If you criticize someone or something too much you become part of the problem rather than part of the solution. We are all a thread in the tapestry of consciousness, and while it is our free will to disagree with one another, pointing the finger too much puts us in the same vibration we're criticizing. We will often censure in others what we dislike about ourselves. Instead, let's strive to be part of the solution. Otherwise, all we are doing is separating ourselves from one another even further. Everyone has something to bring to the table. Let's choose to live, love and laugh together as much as possible. The roller coaster of life is more fun when you have someone else to scream with and hold on to.

HOW TO GET CENTERED
Women generally balance a million things on one pinky while juggling the rest like a pro. Often, while balancing life and business, we lose our connectivity to what holds us steady and strong. It's common and if you know what I am talking about, you are not alone.
Trying to get grounded may not sound easy. Getting grounded may seem unrealistic and out of reach. I put together this very simple worksheet "HOW TO GET CENTERED" to help FEMS gain composure, focus and connectivity to the important side of business and life.

We invite you to visit  FemCity.com daily for the best advice and inspiration. Be sure to connect with your local FemCity community and attend one of our FEM Marketplaces, too [a.k.a. Girls' Night Out Events]. We know firsthand what it's like to be in business for yourself, and the kinds of bumps you might encounter along the way. FemCity was specifically designed to make your journey less turbulent and to help you "have it all" (insert your own definition here).
