Welcome to Key Insights Newsletter
FEBRUARY 2018 Edition!!!
I have the honor of being the 2018 Chair of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce so my Newsletter will focus more on Key Biscayne events and Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce Business promotion. I am very passionate about supporting and advocating for our local businesses. We are blessed to live on an Island with world class amenities, restaurants and merchants.
As a life-long resident and Realtor on Key Biscayne, I love sharing upcoming events and Interesting activities offered around our community for the residents and frequent visitors of our Island
Paradise.
My father, Federico Padovan, moved our family (including grandparents) to Key Biscayne in 1973. I was raised on the Island and left briefly to earn a BFA degree at NYU. But my heart was always here so I returned to my Island Paradise home where I am raising 4th generation Key Biscayners with my husband Donnie Hall.
We also have three lovely contributors sharing their insights as well! Please see their monthly articles at the bottom of each newsletter.
I want to sincerely THANK all of you for the wonderful feedback and interest in participating in our Newsletter

last 2 years!!!

I often tell my couples in therapy that it takes work to have a good marriage, and it takes work to end a marriage. Either way, it is work, you just need to decide which work you want to do.
Considering that the month of February is the month of love, here are a few ways to "work" on improving your relationship:
1) Take inventory. What is satisfying and fulfilling in your relationship? W
hat areas need improvement? Once these areas are identified, schedule a time to discuss. You can also schedule appointment with a therapist to help address sensitive issues in a productive and positive way.
2) Take care of yourself. Remember what the flight attendant says: Put oxygen mask on yourself first, and then put on the other person. When you take care of yourself, you are better able to take care of your partner.
3) Find common goals. Having common interests allows couples to build a strong foundation in their relationship. Whether it is work, play, physical, or spiritual, the more you have in common , the more connected you will be with your partner.
4) Show appreciation to your partner. Almost every article I write on
relationships includes concept of appreciation. If partners appreciate one another, each is giving to the other, and each is receiving from the other. Appreciation brings fulfillment to the person giving and receiving. It is a win-
win!
5) Take time to have fun together. Do not have serious "work on our relationship" discussions with your partner every time that you have a conversation. Choose specific times to speak about these issues. If difficult areas of your relationship are brought up every time you are together, you both will not be very motivated to spend time together.
Relationships do take work to stay successful. Be fully committed in the effort you put into your relationship. Even if the outcome is to end the

Feel Good Foods & Thoughts
Nourishing palate and soul
Judge-Free Me
We spend so much time in our lives judging: our personal decisions, politics, health, the weather, the lives of other people and so on. Ultimately though, we are judging ourselves and reflecting what's going on inside of our psyche when we are evaluating the people and the circumstances outside of ourselves.
Take a load off and do your best to stop judging! It's not an easy habit to break but certainly an endeavor worth pursuing. An affirmation that I love to use is to "observe, not absorb" which lessens the severity of a full blown opinion. It is like watching clouds float by then letting them out of our sight. Then no damage is done and we don't have to carry the burden we've ultimately placed on ourselves. Instead, we enjoy the freedom of co-creating a life where opinions carry less weight than intentions and actions do. We liberate ourselves to create a life full of joy and abundance with the objective of uplifting others instead. In doing so, we inevitably gift ourselves and everyone wins.
