Good afternoon Kristin,
In these early weeks of Lent, we contemplate God’s covenant with His people through Noah and Abraham. Reading this week’s Gospel, I reflected on our own ministerial covenant. Like Noah and Abraham, the covenant we sign represents a promise. It also signifies a commitment to a shared journey with fellow ministers, rooted in solidarity and mutual support.
Similar to the Lenten season’s call for reflection and renewal, signing our covenant marks an ongoing journey of growth, self-examination, and adaptation to the needs of the community. It serves as a reminder of the sacred trust we carry and the privilege of answering the call to serve with integrity and love.
In the weeks ahead, we will ask our teachers to renew their covenants. This invites further conversation and dialogue as we look to continue to grow in this work together. I pray that these conversations fill you with hope and offer your teachers an opportunity to enter deeper into their work in this ministry of Catholic education.
With gratitude,
NICHOLAS FORD | Superintendent
Office for Catholic Schools | Archdiocese of Seattle
