The Good Shepherd

Good morning Kristin,

On behalf of Archbishop Etienne, I am extending an invitation to you and your School Commissions/Boards for a Partners in the Gospel webinar with Archbishop Etienne and members of the Chancery Staff to discuss the important topics of Co-Responsibility and Collaborative Leadership. For your convenience, this hour-long webinar is offered on two different evenings: Wednesday, May 15 from 7-8pm, and Monday, May 20 from 7-8pm. Arrangements are being made to provide simultaneous Spanish translation. Please register through this link: https://archseattle.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2453/responses/new

Please extend this invitation and registration link to the current members of your School Commissions, as we would like to include all the faithful serving in our parish and school consultative bodies. In the event you do not have an active School Commission/Board, please consider identifying and inviting any other key lay volunteer leaders in your communities that you think would benefit from attending this Lay Consultative Leader webinar with Archbishop Etienne.

I am looking forward to this special evening when together our Pastors and Lay Consultative Leaders will hear this message of co-responsibility for leading our faith communities on their Partners in the Gospel journey to eventually becoming one canonical parish.

If you have not already, please register for our last principal meeting of the year on May 9. It will be an opportunity to celebrate those who will be moving into new chapters in their lives and careers and to begin casting our collective sights toward what we hope to work toward next year.

With gratitude,

NICHOLAS FORD | Superintendent

Office for Catholic Schools | Archdiocese of Seattle

May 8th Professional Development for Teachers & School Leaders: Effective Strategies for Multilingual Learners

Join us online on May 8th from 3-4:30pm to learn more about how to best serve our multilanguage learners.

Session Description:

English learners are the fastest-growing segment of the U.S. school population, and yet, most of our schools are under-prepared to meet the needs of this burgeoning population. Given that multilingualism is a superpower, and that communication can be the most inexhaustible source of joy and of frustration for some students, how do you as leaders and educators best serve your English learners? Join us for this professional development session in which we will address high-impact strategies and ways to create linguistically-rich classrooms in which multilingual learners are celebrated, supported, and challenged. Register for this excellent online professional development session.
