Good morning Kristin,
Thank you to each of you who made time to participate in last Thursday’s principal meeting. I left continuing to reflect on what was shared about each of the principals who will be moving into new stages and roles of their career.
As I shared on Thursday, two takeaways included the breadth of experience that this collection of principals represented, and the other element that stood out was how many have succeeded from within their own building.
We can look at the example of the earliest disciples as we approach the conclusion of the Easter season and the Feast of Pentecost to help us exemplify these characteristics. Recognizing the various ways that each of us contribute to the evangelizing mission of the Church is helpful both for meeting the needs of today, while also identifying our leaders for tomorrow.
Two final reminders: please be sure to share the information related to Archbishop Etienne’s presentation on Co-Responsibility and Collaborative Leadership with your School Boards and Commissions. It will be offered on two different evenings: Wednesday, May 15 from 7-8pm, and Monday, May 20 from 7-8pm. Spanish translation will be provided simultaneously. We are in the final days of Open Enrollment Season. Please be sure that all employees take time to go in and renew the benefits (including re-enrollment in HSAs/FSAs), even if they do not anticipate making any changes. Enrollment must be complete by Wednesday, May 15, at 10pm. This last point — the time — is important to note as our Benefits Office has reported that there is considerable volume that has historically enrolled at the last hour.
With gratitude,
NICHOLAS FORD | Superintendent
Office for Catholic Schools | Archdiocese of Seattle
