Thank you, Becca and Camille, our Summer Whitworth Fellowship Interns!
“We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,
because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—
the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel
that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace… For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,
so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.” -Colossians 1:3-12
Please join me this week in thanking our summer interns, Camille Andre and Becca Edinger. They have served faithfully with our youth and children’s ministry programs and their time with us is coming to an end. What a joy it has been to get to know these lovely young women. They have assisted with Vacation Bible School, summer camps, Youth Mission Trip to Campbell Farm, overnighters, swim parties, Orcas Island Encampment, Sunday morning worship leadership, Children’s Worship, small group Bible Studies and much, much, more. God has been faithful through them and God will continue to be faithful in their lives through our prayers.
What a gift it is to share our lives of faith together; even if, only for a short time. There have been many times in my life as a pastor that an individual will come and serve alongside me and then is called away to another area of ministry. It is a blessing to serve God together and then it is a precious gift to bless that person on their way to another ministry. This is my hope and prayer for Camille and Becca, and all the other people who have come and gone. May we continue to pray for those people who have influenced our faith. May we continue to connect as brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. Please remember these Whitworth Students and all our previous interns in your prayers this week as they head back to school.
Gracious God, we thank you for bringing people into our lives, even for a short season. Thank you for their faith and the way they have influenced the faith of our youth and children. May we live lives worthy of you and please you in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, being strengthened with all power according to your glorious might. We give you thanks and praise because you are faithful. Amen.
