Week 8 Challenge: The Call to Neighboring -- Action Steps: Start to plan a neighborhood gathering with another neighbor before school starts again.

Kennewick First Presbyterian Church is seeking our next Director of Children’s Ministry (birth -5 th grade) since Heidi will be “retiring” at the end of August. With a mission to advance the Kingdom of God through worship, love and ministry, our focus is to equip our people to discern and act on God’s calling for us to be caring, intentional neighbors.

We are looking for a real leader to direct our Children and Family programs. If you are energetic and passionate about seeing children grow in their faith, if you value the local church and reaching the lost, we want to hear from you.

If this sounds like you, please send your resume to: pastor.hanna@kfpc.org

Thanks to All for a Great Blood Drive!

Our Friday, July 13 blood drive was great! We had donors who gave 26 pints of whole blood. In addition, one donor gave a Power Red donation, which is equivalent to two units of whole blood. Therefore, the total of whole blood and Power Red donations for our drive was 28 units ! About a quarter of those came from our own First Pres members!
Our blood drives open our doors to our neighbors, and can save three lives for each pint of blood donated. The need for blood is especially great during the summer when there are more accidents and fewer donors. Thanks to all who donated!
Special thanks to the following KFPC members who donated desserts, chili, baked potato fixings, and/or volunteered their time and organizational skills to make the drive go so well: Tim and Sherry Bennett (potatoes), Debbie Bilodeau (Sunday bulletin, newsletter, and information table), Carol Parsons (cookies), Gwen Rawlings (kitchen and clean-up), Chris Thackaberry (set-up and kitchen), Heidi Weeden (cookies), Joe Whalen (set-up, registration, and clean-up). Special thanks to Heidi Fisk and VBS volunteers for the use of their leftover cookies, manwich fixings, and salad. We are so blessed to have such a generous congregation with both their food and time!

Mark your calendars for the remaining two 2018 blood drives at First Pres:
September 13, and November 15, 2018.

Please present your articles for the newsletter no later than the Thursday before the Tuesday you want it published.
Thank you, Debbie
