Sunday Radio Matinee: Focus on Food Insecurity in the U.S.
With COVID-19 continuing to spread, and millions of Americans still out of work, one of the nation's most urgent problems has only grown worse: hunger. In communities across the country, the lines at food pantries are stretching longer and longer, and there's no clear end in sight.

On this week's Sunday Radio Matinee, Harvest Public Media and NPR reporters will tell the stories of those who experience food insecurity on a daily basis. Tune in Sunday, Dec. 6 at 12 p.m.

Fundraising Update: Giving Tuesday Set the Standard
Your donation promotes community
KGOU kicked off the season of giving on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1 with a one-day on-air fundraiser that will continue in the background through Dec. 31.

KGOU donors exceeded our expectations for the day, with 140 donations! Our goal for the month is 500 donations, with Home Creations providing additional funds to KGOU and to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, totaling 40,000 meals for our neighbors in need.

Find out more about Home Creations' generous challenge, and how to participate with a contribution by check or credit card, through a Donor Advised Fund or the Required Minimum Distribution from your IRA. And thank you!

Student Podcast Challenge Opens for College Submissions
This year's Student Podcast Challenge has an exciting addition - college students. As of Dec. 1, students enrolled in two-year and four-year colleges can show off their audio storytelling chops. What are the ideas, issues and discussions that are bubbling up on (virtual) campus? Take inspiration from the Rules and Resources page and enter before Feb. 15. The middle- and high school versions of the contest open for entries in January.

Just for fun...
Wait, Wait...: Healthy Habits with Bill
Sometimes one hour is just not enough time to squeeze in all the fun that is Wait, Wait... Don't Tell me! So the show is now offering little extras containing the bits that really were too good to leave on the cutting room floor. Here's the second edition of Wait, Wait's "Letters from the Editors" -- listen all the way to the end for Bill Kurtis's special coronavirus PSA.
