NPR Visuals: Estimated Coronavirus Peaks State by State
Telling the story of the coronavirus pandemic is a challenge for public radio newsrooms. How do we get across the spread of COVID-19 as it surges in different places at different times throughout the country?

The NPR Visuals team was tasked with illustrating the timeline on a state-by-state basis, using data and projections from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. The result is a tool to visualize the needs of different parts of the country and the impact on lives, health systems and states.

Logan Layden Returns To Take KGOU News Helm
We are pleased to re-introduce KGOU's new Managing Editor: Logan Layden is returning to lead KGOU's team of reporters and manage our collaborative journalism project StateImpact Oklahoma. Longtime listeners will remember Logan as one of the original news reporters for the StateImpact project from the time of its creation in 2011 through 2017. He starts work next week, and we can't wait to have him back on the team!

Plastic Wars: NPR and Frontline Investigation Into Recycling
For decades, Americans have been sorting their trash believing that most plastic could be recycled. But the truth is, less than 10 percent of plastic has ever been recycled. In a joint investigation, NPR and the PBS series Frontline found that oil and gas companies — the makers of plastic — have known that all along, even as they spent millions of dollars telling the American public the opposite. NPR's newsmagazines will be airing more stories from this investigation over the coming weeks, but the March 31 Frontline episode is available to stream.

Special Program: OKC Bombing 25th Anniversary
On April 19, 1995, a truck bomb exploded at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City, killing 168 people -- 19 of them children in a day care center -- and forever changed the city and its residents. This year, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum will hold a virtual remembrance ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary. KGOU will broadcast the ceremony at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 19.

In light of current times, NPR recently extended the deadline for entries in its Tiny Desk Contest. You now have until 11:59 p.m. ET on April 27 to enter.
