You're Invited: Oklahoma Engaged Community Conversation
|
Join KGOU, KOSU, StateImpact Oklahoma and other engaged voters as we wrap up Oklahoma Engaged, our 2018 election project. On Tuesday, June 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., we'll gather at Water's Edge Winery, 712 N. Broadway in Oklahoma City, for conversation and a Q & A session with reporters.
Be our guest for light hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and other refreshments, along with a healthy portion of talk about Oklahoma politics and policies. Oklahoma Engaged reporters will discuss how elected officials have addressed the top issues for voters since the election. Your voice matters – bring your comments and questions, and let us know you plan to attend by Friday, June 21 so we can plan accordingly.

Fundraising Update: End of Fiscal Year
|
We often talk about public radio "driveway moments," those times you can't turn off the radio until you've heard the end of the story.
KGOU provides meaningful moments -- moments that get you thinking, that go deep into a topic that matters to you, that fill you with mirth or set your toe tapping. We're able to bring you these moments because of community support from people like you.
As KGOU's 2019 fiscal year comes to a close on June 30, we have nearly $25,000 left to raise to meet our goal. If it's been a while since you've contributed, please consider helping KGOU at this time.

Remembering NPR's David Gilkey and
Zabihullah Tamanna
|
A sad anniversary was marked at NPR HQ yesterday.
On June 5, 2016, NPR photojournalist David Gilkey and Zabihullah Tamanna, an Afghan reporter NPR hired to work with him,
were killed while on assignment in Afghanistan
. They were traveling with the Afghan National Army when their convoy was ambushed. John Poole, NPR's senior visuals editor, pays tribute by exploring some of the striking photos David took during a remarkable career.
