Special Coverage Plans for Election Night

After the polls close on Election Day, listen as the results come in throughout the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 6. Our special coverage begins at 7 p.m. with NPR keeping track of the national picture, including newsmaker interviews, reports on other states' Congressional races and analysis from NPR's Political Team.

At 15 minutes and 35 minutes past the top of each hour, KGOU and our partners at KOSU and StateImpact Oklahoma will collaborate on coverage of top statewide races. We'll have results, reports from the candidates' watch parties, and analysis from local experts on Oklahoma politics. Listen from 7 until 11 p.m., and check in at KGOU.org or on our social media pages for the latest developments.

Join Us for a Watch Party on Election Night
Oklahoma Engaged
If you are out and about on Tuesday, Nov. 6, stop by our Oklahoma Engaged Watch Party for some refreshments and a gathering of other engaged voters of all stripes. KGOU's General Manager Dick Pryor will be broadcasting live for part of each hour, with political experts analyzing the results as votes are counted. Join us anytime between 6:30 and 11 p.m. at Oklahoma City University Law School's McLaughlin Hall (Old Central High building at N.W. 8th and Harvey) and celebrate the democratic process!

' 1A Across America' Launches To Hear New Voices
1A Across America with Joshua Johnson
Morning talk show 1A is launching a two-year reporting project in collaboration with six local public radio stations across the middle of the country. With a $750,000 grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, 1A Across America aims to cover underreported local issues and points of view through on-air discussions, interviews, field reporting, and live events. You can hear 1A with host Joshua Johnson weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. on KGOU.

New Jazz Night Video: Chick Corea Back in Boston

Jazz Night in America is excited to share a new concert film and radio episode featuring legendary pianist Chick Corea. Jazz Night host Christian McBride caught up with Corea during a recent gig at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston -- just across the river from Chelsea, Mass., where he was born and raised. He was on tour with a new trio he calls Vigilette. Read more, watch the video or listen to this week's show before it airs on KGOU Friday evening at 9 p.m.

Stephen Lang
Award-winning playwright, stage and screen actor Stephen Lang brings to life the stories of eight veterans in Beyond Glory, rendering first-hand accounts of valor which resulted in the nation's highest military award, the Medal of Honor. The one-man show comes to Oklahoma City Community College on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Register for our drawing for your chance to win a pair of tickets.

On the 100th anniversary of the armistice ending World War I, Canterbury presents Benjamin Britten's 20th century masterwork War Requiem. The piece combines text from the traditional Latin requiem with the poetry of Wilfred Owens, a young soldier who died in combat one week before the peace was declared.
