Developing Confident Senior Care Managers—Ensuring that supervisors have the skills to lead is vital to a senior care community’s success. Often, though, great staff get promoted because they were good a something else. With often little preparation, a great team member becomes a frustrated new supervisor—struggling unnecessarily in that role. Ill-prepared managers also increase staff turnover risk. This curriculum targets managers’ confidence AND competence, teaching the hard and soft skills needed to succeed in leading others.

Following this program, participants will be able to:
  • coach for performance using meaningful feedback
  • address staff attitude problems
  • write clear and measurable performance expectations
  • delegate AND hold staff accountable
  • use progressive discipline (to save, not terminate)
  • manage staff conflict
  • evaluate staff performance
