States Can Begin Submitting Applications To HHS For $50B In Rural Health Care Funding
The Hill (9/15, Weixel, 5.69M) reports, "States can begin applying Monday for their share of a $50 billion fund for rural health providers under the GOP’s tax and spending law, but they need to move quickly," as states must submit applications by November 5, with award decisions being made by Dec. 31.
ModernHealthcare (9/15, Early, Subscription Publication, 215K) reports that "hospitals and other providers have raised concerns the funding will not be enough to stave off the repercussions of sweeping health care cuts also included in the legislation, chiefly the $960 billion cut to the Medicaid program."

2026 Webinar Survey
Proactive is currently collecting data on topics for 2026 webinars. KHCA/KCAL is seeking your input on desired topics for next year. The purpose of this survey is solely to see what our members are interested in and is not a complete list of trainings that Proactive plans to provide. The KHCA/KCAL Education committee will review results and make decisions on education delivered based on your input.

So this week, this discussion will include what should be included in a compliant Discharge Summary, understanding that many facilities are using a form accessible in the electronic medical record system used by the facility. But knowing that does not always mean staff complete the forms provided.
So what are the core components of a comprehensive discharge summary spelled out in F628 in Appendix PP? READ MORE
