A Message from the Office of the State Fire Marshal: Elevator Registration Update

The Kansas Elevator Safety Act was adopted in 2023. This act requires that all elevators located within the state of Kansas be registered with the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office. There is no charge to register an elevator.

If your building has an Elevator in it, you must register it with the Fire Marshal’s office. Follow this link for the registration form. https://firemarshal.ks.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1199

If you have a certificate issued by the state, your elevator has already been registered, so you are good to go!
