We have some important updates about payor updates, new programs, and upcoming events. There's a lot of information, and we want to keep you informed. Please read through this email carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

Important Updates

New Georgia Law Requires Annual RSV Education for Child Care Families

A new Georgia law requires child care learning centers and family child care learning homes to provide parents and guardians with educational information about respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) by September 1 each year.

The information must include RSV prevention recommendations based on guidance from professional medical organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics.

KHF practices may receive questions from families or child care partners and are encouraged to continue sharing trusted RSV prevention resources throughout respiratory season.

September HR Compliance Reminder: Review Your PTO Policy

As the busy holiday season approaches, September is a good time for practice leaders to review their paid time off (PTO) policies and procedures with staff. Clear communication now can help prevent confusion and support appropriate staffing during November and December.

How unused PTO is handled
Procedures for employees who have exhausted their available PTO
Expectations and processes for requesting time off around the holidays

Practice leaders should confirm that their policies are current, consistently applied and clearly understood by all employees.

HR Reminder: When Is a New Form I-9 Required for a Rehire?

Whether an employer must complete a new Form I-9 for a rehired employee depends on when the employee's previous form was completed.

If the employee is rehired within three years of the original Form I-9 completion date, the employer may complete a new form or update Supplement B of the previous form. If more than three years have passed, a new Form I-9 is required.

Before using Supplement B, employers should confirm that the employee remains authorized to work and determine whether reverification is necessary. If the previous form or Supplement B has expired, employers should use the most current version of Supplement B and attach it to the original form.

KHF Practice Leaders Gather for Leadership Development Event

Thank you to everyone who joined Kids Health First on August 20 for Leading Across Generations: Rebuilding Team Engagement, Initiative & Workforce Stability.

Practice leaders came together for an engaging and interactive discussion about managing multigenerational teams, strengthening employee engagement, encouraging initiative and improving workforce stability. We appreciate everyone who participated, shared experiences and helped make the event a success.

We look forward to continuing to provide meaningful opportunities for KHF practice leaders to connect and learn from one another.

KHF member practices are encouraged to review the Annual Dues Policy, which outlines current membership rates, available discounts, dues offsets and qualifying suspensions.

Does Your Practice Perform In-Office Circumcisions?

A KHF member practice is interested in connecting with other practices that perform circumcisions in the office.

If your practice offers in-office circumcisions and is willing to share information, please provide the CPT code your practice uses, your name and practice name, and the best contact information for follow-up.
