Dear Kids Health First (KHF) Providers and Practice Administrators,

We have some important updates about payor updates, new programs, and upcoming events. There's a lot of information, and we want to keep you informed. Please read through this email carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

Important Updates

Updates on Patients with disabilities and Section 504

Recent updates to federal accessibility regulations include requirements related to medical diagnostic equipment (MDE). These requirements, which become effective in July 2026, may apply to certain physician practices and include accessibility considerations for equipment such as exam tables and weight scales.

The attached brief from Sterling Seacrest Pritchard provides an overview of the rule and key considerations for practices.

Additionally, McKesson, through its agreement with TCCN, may be able to assist practices in identifying equipment options that align with these requirements. Practices may contact their McKesson representative for more information.

RSV mAb Season Extension

In the March 25th newsletter, Vaccines for Children (VFC) indicated that VFC would be extending the RSV immunization season to 4/30/26.

Provider Relations continues to seek responses from the commercial payors. The link to the AAP article indicates that GA has extended the season to 4/3/26 or did not provide an end date. If the claim is denied, please find the attached sample appeal letter from the Reimbursement Specialist at Sanofi. You may also want to consider having the parent sign a financial Responsibility form.

Supporting Staff Mental Health in Your Practice

HR experts at Vxtra emphasize that creating a supportive environment starts with making mental health a normal part of workplace conversations. Leaders should encourage open dialogue, share available resources, and handle any personal information with confidentiality to help reduce stigma and build trust.

Simple steps—like offering time for wellness activities or inviting staff input on mental health initiatives—can also make a meaningful impact on team well-being.
