Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this new Disney musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the beautiful female reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.”

Kenston Schools invites you to the Annual Fine Arts Showcase from May 1 - 4 at Kenston High School. The showcase will highlight the K-12 District Art Show featuring AP Art portfolios and music performances by the bands and choruses from the middle and high schools.
The K-12 Art District Art Show will remain open Monday, May 1 through Thursday, May 4
6-9 pm in the KHS Gymnasium.

SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY

Kenston Schools Technology Department is looking to hire a Summer Intern

The position would start June 1st and will end before school starts.  We offer:

  • Flexible Hours (work around sports/vacations/etc...)
  • Work Monday - Thursday, No weekends! (8 AM - 2 PM)
  • $10.10 an hour
  • No tech skills required, we will train you with the skills you need
  • Unbox new equipment, organize Chromebooks, inventory devices, setup computers, take apart Chromebooks

COLLEGE AHEAD
Junior Class College Planning Meeting
CALLING ALL JUNIORS!
Junior students will attend a college planning information session held during the school day on Monday, April 24 during 4th block in the KHS Main Gym. The Kenston High School Guidance Department will be presenting information relating to college research, tips for college visits, and an overview of the college application process. In addition, there will be college admissions representatives from The Ohio State University and John Carroll University, along with some current KHS seniors available for questions and answers. Junior students will receive a variety of handouts and resources to bring home and share with their family. We are hopeful that this event will help students kickstart their college exploration journey!

If you love to work with your hands, experts and program directors will talk more about career opportunities in skilled trades, apprenticeships, and other vocational postsecondary options that will get your future started. TUTORING - KENSTON ACADEMY
Having trouble with an English essay or understanding your Algebra homework? Do you have a Spanish vocabulary test coming up and you need someone to quiz you? Or maybe you just need a quiet place to work on your homework? Kenston Academy is available and ready to help! See the chart below for the current available tutor schedule. 
WHO: Kenston Academy (KA) is open to all students. WHEN: KA runs Mon -Thurs from 2:15-3:20 pm each week (following the school calendar). WHERE: The HUB at KHS WHY: Peer Tutoring,organizational assistance, assignment/homework completion, group project meetings.
*KA and Peer Tutoring are NOT intensive one-on-one tutoring services. Students are expected to bring their assignments. Students are encouraged to request and schedule a peer tutor ahead of time. Please email Mrs. Alyssa Martin at [email protected] or click the link below.

SIGNING DAY
Seniors, look for an announcement soon regarding our Signing Day on April 26 recognizing all outgoing student-athletes who will continue playing careers in college! Details will be sent via Final Forms.

GOLD CARDS AVAILABLE

All residents of Auburn and Bainbridge who are 60 years of age or older may obtain a free, lifetime “gold card” which will admit them free of charge to any school-sponsored event in which students participate, including home athletic events, musical and dramatic performances. Gold cards are not valid when an event is sponsored by an organization other than the schools (P.T.O., Booster groups, etc.) as a fundraiser. Cards cannot be used for athletic events such as conference, regional, or state playoffs.

Gold card membership can be obtained at the Kenston Board Office, 17419 Snyder Road.

This year, KAB is pleased to announce the new Student Sports Pass. This program allows all students FREE ADMISSION to home games for all sports (excluding football).
 
The student “All Sports Pass” is redeemable on the HomeTown Ticketing Site with the student’s Kenston Student ID number serving as the sales code. The system will also require additional specific information to ensure the security and uniqueness of each order. What is Kenston Foundation?

The Kenston Foundation was founded in 1983 to provide an avenue for individual and corporate donors to promote academic excellence with a tax deductible gift. The Kenston Foundation is dedicated to the
continued excellence in education by supporting and promoting the availability and use of innovative and creative tools that enhance curriculum and enrich the educational experience that goes above and
beyond the district budget initiatives.

Recognizing academic excellence and personal achievement by our students, the Kenston Foundation awards annual scholarships to our graduating seniors. These scholarships are awarded each year to candidates with a variety of expertise and interest, including math, science, humanities, education, community service and others. Since 2014, the Kenston Foundation has awarded over 200 scholarships, totaling over $500,000.

In addition, The Kenston Foundation has awarded over $200,000 in educational grants which serve to provide essential equipment, materials and financial aid needed to fund projects and programs
benefiting students across our educational system.
