WELCOME BACK STUDENTS
Looking forward to 2022-2023!
Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome Back! It is hard to believe we are approaching our first day of school on Wednesday, August 17.   I hope you enjoyed the summer months and took time to relax with family and friends.

We are fortunate to have an exceptional school district at Kenston. Our community puts education first and we are grateful to provide a valuable learning experience for students. The five district goals of Achievement, Citizenship, Health & Wellness, Innovation and Communication continues to be our overall focus for professional development and staff leadership. This year, teachers and staff will have a greater awareness of students' social and emotional needs in order to reconnect with positive rapport and stronger relationships. These connections will help maintain a school environment that is safe, secure, and conducive to learning.

Below are a some reminders for high school families as we approach the 2022-2023 school year. If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact the main office at (440) 543-9821 or email me directly.

Best,

Tom Gabram, Principal

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Seniors, documentation needed for the Meningococcal vaccine!
Vaccine for Seniors Only

For the 2022-2023 school year, all 12th grade students (Class of 2023) are required to have proof of two doses of the Meningococcal Vaccine on file in the clinic by the fourteenth day of school which is Wednesday, September 7, 2022. A record of both doses must be on file. You may submit documentation at any time between now and the start of the 2022-2023 school year. Forms may be mailed to the school or emailed directly to Lisa Persichetti, R.N.

Diligence in addressing this matter over the summer months is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Lisa Persichetti at [email protected]
BACK PACKS
Clarification

Like last year, students have the option to carry books & supplies using a clear backpack or tote bag to alleviate going to their locker between classes. Traditional backpacks and/ or string bags are not permitted to be carried into the classrooms and must remain in lockers.
SCHOOL PICTURES
Student ID's, Yearbook, Infinite Campus
WHEN:
All students in grades 9-12 are required to have their picture taken. If students missed getting their picture taken during Packet Pick-up Day, they can get their picture taken on Friday, August 26 only through Cavanaugh Studios in the Auburn Bainbridge Room during the school day at their convenience.
WHY:
All students must have an updated Student ID and picture for the Infinite Campus database.

COST:
School photos are not required to purchase, but all students must have an updated school I.D. at no charge for the Infinite Campus database. For grades 9-11, this picture will also be used in the Yearbook.

Parents / Guardians who wish to order prints from Cavanaugh Studios can order online using the link below:
If parents / Guardians prefer, they can download a picture order form to be printed (see link below).
SENIOR PORTRAITS

Seniors-
We hope you were able to take advantage of the one-time special offer for your senior portrait "mini-session" at the start of the school year on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 by Cavanaugh Photography. However, if you missed it, you can still get your professional portrait taken for the yearbook on Friday, August 26 during the school day.
Don't miss this great opportunity! It is one thing you can take off your long list of things to do for your senior year. (This picture will be for the KHS Yearbook only, you will not be able to purchase prints.)

If you decided to have your pictures taken over the summer and up until January 23, 2023, at  Cavanaugh, Palmieri, Slezak, Ripcho, Venditti or New Direction , they will automatically send the pictures to our yearbook. Call one of those studios to schedule an appointment.

If you have your portraits taken elsewhere, they must meet the following requirements: size: no less than 300 dpi; pose: only traditional full color portrait, heads and shoulders only. No hands, props, hats, nor inappropriate clothing. Must have a blue background, not light blue but on the spectrum from cobalt to navy.  Without these requirements, the yearbook staff will not accept your senior portrait for the yearbook.  The portrait must be submitted electronically on a CD or email attachment. Under no circumstances will a senior portrait be scanned from a print.
SCHOOL FEES - First Semester
Mark your calendar!
Due to scheduling changes, student school fees will be posted a few weeks into the semester. Parents/Guardians will be able to view their student's balances and make payments online through the parent portal of Infinite Campus once the fees have been posted. School fees will be posted to Infinite Campus portals as follows:

Fall Semester Fees Posted: Mid September 2022
Spring Semester Fees Posted: Mid February 2023
Why are high school fees different?

Similar to college courses, some high school courses require specific items that the students use that are considered consumables: such as workbooks, lab supplies, etc. Each course may have its own fee and the total cost will be determined by the classes the student takes each semester. Since there are four different classes per semester, the total cost for fees in the Spring semester will look different. A "School Fees Payment Reminder" notification will be sent via email to Parents/ Guardians for the first semester classes and again after the start of second semester classes.  If you have further questions please call (440) 543-9821 x 2040
