Your Kin Canada Need-to-Knows
Remembering Executive Director Grant Ferron

Earlier this month, on June 6, 2022, we lost a very special member of the Family of Kin - Executive Director, Grant Ferron. His impact on our membership, staff team, and our Association as a whole is undeniable, and this tremendous loss to Kin is felt deeply from coast to coast.

Grant's visitation and celebration of life were held in London, Ontario on June 11, 2022. They were well-attended by the many people he impacted over the years. The outpouring of support from our association meant a lot to Grant's wife, Marie, and daughters Courtney and Maegan.

He will be deeply missed and will live on through all who were influenced and encouraged by his leadership.

Grant selected the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund (Kin Canada Bursaries program) as his charity of choice. He would be very pleased to see all the generous donations sent in his honour by his loved ones and fellow Kin from coast to coast.
Happy to meet. Sorry to part.

Canadian Blood Services

June is Canadian Blood Services Partner Month! Since our partnership began in 2015, Kin members have donated over 5,000 units of blood!

On behalf of Kin Canada and our National Service Network, thank you to all Kin who play a critical role in ensuring all Canadians have access to blood when they need it. Whether you roll up your sleeve to give, host a blood clinic as a club, or spread the word online about how people can donate, you are an essential part of helping Canadian Blood Services (CBS) meet ongoing, and lifesaving community needs from coast to coast.

Don't forget that your family, friends, and colleagues can also donate under your District's account even if they are not an active member, so encourage them to help Kin Canada and your District meet this year's pledge goals!
Volunteer Screening for 2022/2023 Club Presidents and Treasurers

Don't forget that, as part of Kin Canada's Volunteer Screening policy, Club Presidents and Club Treasurers must submit valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) or Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) results and a Consent Form within two months of their election.

However, if your 2022/23 Club President and/or Club Treasurer previously submitted CRC or VSC results dated "2020" or later, they do not need to resubmit this year. They also do not need to complete the consent form.

If your 2022/23 Club President and/or Club Secretary need to submit a CRC or VSC, results must not be older than three months (90 days). Once the check results are submitted, they are valid for three years from the date on the record check. A consent form will also be required if your Club President or Club Secretary has not submitted one previously.

Criminal Record Checks can be completed fully online for a discounted rate through https://bit.ly/KinBackCheck.

If you are unsure if your Club President and Club Treasurer require a new CRC or VSC, Jenn Haug would be happy to check for you.

IMPORTANT: Results of the check and the consent form must be sent to Kin Canada no later than November 15, 2022 to maintain the Club's Good Standing.
