Students, Parents, Staff,
Kensington Intermediate Senior High is excited to announce that June 22nd will be the date for this year’s Alternative Graduation Celebrations. While the details of the modified celebrations are still being refined, Kensington Intermediate Senior High staff want families to mark their calendars. We will be hosting a graduation celebration on Monday, June 22nd during the day.
We know that this is a unique time and a traditional full-scale graduation celebration is not possible; however, we are working hard with our grad committees to put together a simpler event that celebrates our graduates while adhering to the public health guidelines set forth by the Chief Medical Officer of Health. We recognize that there are many unknowns in the world right now, but one thing we know for certain is that our graduates have worked tirelessly to make it to the end of their schooling journey. We want to celebrate this accomplishment now in a safe way.
We know that the school closure has been particularly challenging for our graduates given that their special year has been cut short. Much like other school divisions across the globe, we will be working hard to build a simple and safe, yet innovative and creative celebration that helps bring closure to the school year. It won’t be the traditional graduation that we’ve done in the past, but we are committed to marking this special occasion in a different way. It will be a unique event during a unique time. In the coming weeks, we will release more details about the alternative graduation celebrations. We know that our graduates and families will have many questions about what this unique graduation will look like. We look forward to sharing complete details about each school’s celebration as soon as we can. Graduates and families are encouraged to watch the school’s social media accounts and websites for up to date information along with SAS emails.
Thanks, KISH Administration

CASE TEAM PROJECT
On Friday, May 15, Premier Dennis King announced the upcoming launch of a Case Team Program for the summer of 2020.  The program will bring together teams of multi-disciplinary post-secondary students to solve real problems brought forward by government departments and agencies, private businesses and non-profit organizations.

This program presents a unique opportunity for you to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge, experience and talent these students can bring to your organization.

We invite you to submit a problem that your organization is facing. You may be encountering new challenges as we move towards the “new normal”, and you will undoubtedly benefit greatly from a team working for you, researching industry trends and best practices and developing evidence-based solutions.  We anticipate the problems presented will range in complexity, and could include (but are not limited to) those involving marketing, human resources, operations, or strategy.

Your commitment
You will need to have a representative of your organization available to meet with your case team regularly during the two-week period assigned to your organization.  This person should be a member of your professional staff who can provide guidance and feedback.  At the end of the two weeks, your case team will present to you its findings and recommendations in the form of a professional report and oral presentation; and in return, you will provide them with an evaluation of this presentation.

What you will gain
Students will:
Ø    Collect information about the your organization through a variety of methods
Ø    Critically analyze your organization and the problem
Ø    Identify and help articulate your needs
Ø    Research best practices and industry trends
Ø    Formulate recommendations and solutions with attention to your specific needs, capabilities and limitations
Ø    Have access to a Case Team Coordinator, who will be available to provide advice and guidance to the team

When is deadline to apply?
Organizations must submit their applications on or  before May 27, 2020.
