The mission of KLRN is to open a world of lifelong learning through trustworthy and enriching programs on-air, online and in our community.
Dear Teachers and Families,

Happy Earth Day! Today, April 22, 2020, marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. Though some of us are working from home and some of us are working at job sites, we want to thank everyone who is working hard to keep us all safe and healthy. There are so many people who are giving their best every day. Today and every day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the beauty in the world. Even if we are staying inside, look out the window and see the new leaves, bright and green, growing on the trees, and to listen for the birds singing in the morning. There is so much beauty in nature.

While we are at home, you may be looking for activities that can help your students and your family save energy. We encourage you to visit the Watt Watchers of Texas website. You can find fun, free, TEKS-aligned activities for grades K-12 at https://www.watt-watchers.com/student-activities/.

If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] . Please stay safe and keep doing the great work that you do. We are all in this together and we appreciate you.

With Appreciation,
Rachel Salinas
Director of School Services

LIVE DISCUSSION WITH KEN BURNS
On April 29 at 7 p.m. ET, Ken Burns will participate in a live discussion on the PBS Learning Media YouTube page, where he’ll answer questions submitted by teachers.
LEARNINGMEDIA TRAINING
At PBS, we are gathering FREE resources on PBS Learning Media to help the learning continue at home. You can choose from videos, interactive games, activities and TEKS-aligned lesson plans to teach your child from home. You can also use it with the Remind app, Google classroom, and you can even create folders for your own reference and to share with your students, colleagues, and families!

To help navigate PBS Learning Media and this transition to digital learning, KLRN will be holding 1-hour online training sessions.
