The mission of KLRN is to open a world of lifelong learning through trustworthy and enriching programs on-air, online and in our community.
Dear Educators,

We hope you are doing well. This month, we are focusing on the themes of gratitude and kindness. Because of people like you, the people who give their best to the learners of the world, we want to thank you. It may be challenging to see in the midst of so much uncertainty, but there is beauty all around us.
Ronald E. McNair had his eyes on the stars and the beauty of the universe, and believed in what could be possible with dedicated people working together. Antonín Dvořák traveled to Minnehaha Falls, and spoke of this place in nature “So intensely beautiful that words cannot describe it.” Young photographers here in south Texas share their photos of nature in Picture Your World: Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas. There is beauty in people and their stories: in our families, our friends, our neighbors, and our friends whom we have not yet met. Please share your story here. There are unique differences that make us special, and there is our humanity which unites us all. In a quote from Martha Sharp, “One can only imagine a miracle so often, but miracles can happen, when many people become concerned and are willing to act at the right time.”

Let us act together to make the world a nicer place. We thank you for what you do, and we are here for you. Please reach out to us any time at education@klrn.org.

With Appreciation,
KLRN Education Team

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
HEALTHY KIDS
KLRN’s Healthy Kids Project supports healthy lifestyles by influencing eating decisions and physical activities. Through project resources, the audience is introduced to songs, live action movement, animation, and a cast of “perfectly imperfect” characters to deliver key messaging that contrasts healthy choices and attitudes with unhealthy behaviors. Lessons include activities for children ages 0-9 and all school age lessons are aligned to the TEKS.

Check out this resource about making healthy choices!
