Dear Educators,

Happy Earth Month! As spring brings warmer days, we’re excited to support you with engaging, real-world learning opportunities that inspire curiosity and connection in your classroom. Explore free, TEKS-aligned resources on PBS LearningMedia to bring meaningful, ready-to-use lessons into your daily instruction all month long.

This April, discover a variety of resources that celebrate Earth Month through climate and nature topics, while also supporting student success with testing prep in U.S. History, Civics, and Science, and encouraging creativity through National Poetry Month activities. You can also explore hands-on Nature and STEM connections that make learning interactive and relevant for students of all ages.

Beyond the classroom, take advantage of enriching opportunities like the Texas Daughters of the American Revolution touring exhibit, engaging content with Chip Kids, and additional community events designed to extend learning and connect with families.

Thank you for the incredible work you do each day. Your dedication continues to make a lasting impact!

With appreciation,

KLRN Education Team

2026 Congressional Art Competition: Celebrating 250 Years of America

Memories-2024-1020x1024 image

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district.

Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
