Dear Families,
This week, our activities are focused on exploring nature. There is so much beauty in the natural world. Teamwork and compassion are evident in nature. We can observe how birds build their nests. They work together as family and friends to achieve goals that benefit everyone.
Working together towards everyone’s well being is a responsibility we all share, and it is something that we all can do. We all have something to share; something to give, and something to receive. Let us recognize what is good within ourselves that we can share and what is good in our fellow humans that we can receive, learn from, and grow.
There are topics which are necessary to discuss, and may be difficult to address. Let us take time to hear what our children have to say, to consider their questions, and to truly listen to them and learn from them. To start these conversations, here are some excellent resources curated by our PBS friends:
Please note:
These resources are for educational use and are to be used in conjunction with other resources and conversations to provide the most complete context for young people. These resources are to be watched, read, and explored together with an adult. If you are utilizing these tools in an educational setting, please notify families of use as they are to be used with families’ knowledge and inclusion.
We are here for you. Please keep doing what you do. We thank you for all that you are doing to raise kind and understanding children who make the world a nicer place.
With appreciation,
KLRN Education Team
