You are receiving this newsletter as a KMB member, friend, volunteer or supporter to stay updated on KMB news, events, and volunteer opportunities. THANK YOU!

As we gather together to celebrate this season of gratitude, KMB would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible individuals, families, businesses, and organizations that make our community so special.

We are truly grateful for the unwavering support of everyone who contributes to making McIntosh County a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful place to live, work, and visit. Your commitment to environmental stewardship, whether through litter cleanups, recycling efforts, or simply caring for our shared spaces, makes all the difference.

This Thanksgiving, we celebrate not just the holiday, but the spirit of community, kindness, and responsibility that defines us. Together, we have made strides in preserving the beauty of our county for future generations, and we are excited to continue working alongside all of you to ensure that our natural resources thrive.

Thank you for your dedication, your hard work, and your passion for keeping McIntosh Beautiful. Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving!

With gratitude,

THIS WEEKEND!

Our annual Fall Community Recycling Event is coming up Saturday, November 9, from 9 AM – 1 PM at Eulonia Park.

THANK YOU to our recycling partners Southern Metals Recycling, Sensible Recycling & Waste Management.

COLLECTING: Electronics. Flat Screen TVs. Scrap Metal & Appliances. Batteries. Ink Cartridges. CFL Light Bulbs & Fluorescent Tubes (up to 4 FT only). Household Goods. AND MUCH MORE…

All services are FREE!

Assistance will be available for unloading items and materials from vehicles. Each participant will also receive an updated McIntosh County Recycling Guide, listing where a wide variety of items and materials can be taken for reuse or recycling in our area.

Thank YOU KMB Members Kelly & Rick, from neighborhood ASHANTILLY COTTAGES! As you know, glass jars and bottles are no longer being collected in our curbside recycling bins. Mcintosh residents are welcome - and encouraged - to take their glass to drop off locations in Brunswick and St Simons.

Kelly and Rick labeled a big plastic bin GLASS and put it on their neighborhood Clubhouse porch, encouraging all residents to recycle. Once full, they’ll take it to Brunswick. Thank You!

Why not start the same campaign in your own neighborhood? TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Recycling is of course great for the environment because it reduces pollution, conserves resources, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. And it obviously makes you happy! Look at those smiles!

ABANDONED BUILDING PROGRAM

Looking for a way to remove an abandoned building or mobile home from your property? Keep McIntosh Beautiful may be able to help.

Dilapidated and abandoned buildings are eyesores that detract from our community’s appearance and reduce the value of the property where they are located. They can also be unsafe and unhealthy nuisances that are locations for criminal activity.

To address the problem in McIntosh County, KMB offers financial assistance to OWNERS for the demolition and removal of abandoned buildings from THEIR property. We salvage and recycle what can safely be removed.

STRUCTURES MUST BE LOCATED IN MCINTOSH COUNTY, UNOCCUPIED, AND BEYOND REPAIR TO QUALIFY.

Thank you to the many dedicated partners that help with this program. You are appreciated!

OCT. 24 Not a huge turnout but great group that attended the KMB Member/Volunteer Appreciation & Open House last night at the Darien-McIntosh County Chamber of Commerce. With so many reschedules because of the storms, stress from elections on the national to local level, and the sadness surrounding Sapelo, it’s perfectly normal for our close-knit community to be feeling a smidgen melancholy, but all of this just bonds us closer.

We discussed ways we could collaborate to enrich our community! Many filled out surveys giving us ideas and suggestions to better serve McIntosh.

THANK YOU Darien GA Lions Club, Coastal WildScapes, and UGA Extension/4-H McIntosh County for setting up interesting, informative displays!

Recognized Jake Gross with JGro Fabrication LLC for Member Volunteer of the Year! He has collected endless bags of trash from our roadways. And thank you Partner Volunteer of the Year Alan Shedd with Integrated Energy Systems! He shows up for every event to pitch in and help wherever he can! THANK YOU!

We had a lot of leftover food made by our Board of Directors. Chamber Pres Kat Hoyt helped us pack it up and we took it to the local jail and 911 Center for all those working through the night for our community.

OCT.19 It was a beautiful morning to join KMB and help make our community shine! #welovewherewelive Butler’s Island, down Hwy 17 to Champney. RIVERS ALIVE Land & Shoreline Cleanup! Although it was too windy and currents too strong to get in the water, volunteers came out to collect 17 bags of trash, some car parts, broken coolers and a couple tires.

NOV. 2 Darien Lions Club Fall Festival was great! Sold our first 2025 tickets to KMB Oyster Roast & BBQ “FRIENDS&FUNDS” RAISER! Get yours! today! THANK YOU George, Selso & Leslie, and Barbara & John for volunteering!

Join us in helping Keep McIntosh Beautiful! Partnering with KMB benefits you and your business in a big way. We believe in the power of collaboration and are seeking PARTNERSHIPS with people and businesses to further our mission and amplify our impact.

By becoming a partner of KMB, you’ll be directly contributing to our programs designed to enhance the beauty and economic activity in our community. *Land and Water Cleanups and Litter Control *Recycling Events and Education *Community Improvement and Beautification Projects *Our Award-Winning Abandoned Buildings Program that is removing dilapidated buildings and mobile homes.

In return, we offer various PARTNERSHIP Packages tailored to align with your company’s values and objectives. Benefits may include brand exposure through our marketing channels, opportunities for employee engagement, and recognition at our events and initiatives. In the past, we have reached out for Oyster Roast/BBQ Fundraiser Sponsors. Why just one event when we can celebrate our supporters ALL year long? PARTNERSHIPS are the answer!

We understand the importance of meaningful partnerships and are committed to ensuring that our partners receive tangible value and recognition for their support all year long. Together, we can create positive change and make a lasting difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Your support is vital. Keep McIntosh Beautiful is a 501(c)3 non-profit and registered affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation network, but we receive no financial support from either of these organizations and are one of only a few state affiliates

(out of 73) which receive no local government funding. Learn more about KMB and what we’re doing at www.KeepMcIntoshBeautiful.com.

We DO ask that you arrange at least one cleanup yearly. Pick up trash right in front of your business or host a bigger pickup with employees elsewhere in our community. You’ll be given all supplies needed - litter grabbers, safety vests, bottled water, trash bags. What a mutually beneficial bonding activity AND exceptional marketing moment!

Thank you for considering this opportunity. We look forward to the possibility of working together to create a brighter future for our community. Working together for a clean, green and beautiful McIntosh County!
