Spring Break Travel: CDC Still Advising Would-Be Travelers To Delay Plans
As we near spring break (March 26 - April 5), please be mindful of the following CDC travel guidelines and how strict adherence to mitigation strategies has allowed us to offer face-to-face learning this year:
"Travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. CDC recommends that you do not travel at this time. Delay travel and stay home to protect yourself and others from COVID-19."

You and your travel companions (including children) may feel well and not have any symptoms, but you can still spread COVID-19 to family, friends, and community during and after travel. Check your state, territorial, or local health department for information about local quarantine requirements."
  • Friday, March 26 - Monday, April 5: NO SCHOOL - SPRING BREAK!

  • Tuesday, April 6 - School resumes

What if we could celebrate the many good things our students do every day in our high school?
We believe
  • Students who are #KMKind or make good choices, and are recognized for doing good, will typically continue to do good, and by their example, encourage others to as well
  • Parents appreciate hearing something good about their children
  • Good begets good
We began an effort 2 years ago to engage our teachers and staff to have their eyes and ears open for students who do great things, make good choices, or simply deserve recognition for their positive behavior, and report students being awesome to our #GoodNewsCAlloftheDay Google Form!

Mr. Bestor then calls the student to the main office (though they don't know it's for something good) and congratulates them. Mr. Bestor and the student then call a parent/guardian and share the news! It's true, sometimes through tears they share how happy they are to receive these messages and that they are so proud of their child. Often, they want to pass along a big thank you to the teachers who took the time to recognize their child (so I do!).

To top it all off, them local restaurant coupons, and call their parent/guardian to let them know that their child was selected for being awesome and why. #GoodNewsCalloftheDay

Over the last 2 years, we have celebrated students 175+ times!!!

Have a well-deserved, restful spring break, and THANK YOU for raising such great students!

We are very grateful to many community organizations for their support of this effort!
THANK YOU KM Hospitality Parents for raising a beverage and toasting our KMHS staff this St. Patrick's Day!

Not the beverage(s) you'd typically think of... rather, Mint Shakes! They were also candy treats waiting for us in the staff lounge!

Sláinte (pronounced "slaan- sha")!

That Irish saying is derived from the Old Irish adjective slán (which means "safe"), sláinte literally translates as "health" and is used as a stand-in for the more time-consuming "I drink to your health!" That works for ALL of us this year!

Thank you so much KM Parents and... Happy belated St. Patrick's Day from KM Staff!
Congrats to sophomore Grace Grocholski, who was named The Freeman's girls basketball player of the year! Grocholski led the county with 20.4 points per game and averaged 9.8 boards.
Dash to the Bash on May 22nd!
