In THIS VIDEO, Principal Beth Kaminski shares information about:

ACT Testing & Distance Learning - March 9

Additional important updates on Learning Environment Changes and Parking Lot Safety are shared below.
ACT Testing and Distance Learning Day: March 9th
As was shared in the daily announcements this week, and a letter sent to all families two weeks ago, next week Tuesday is the mandatory ACT testing day for all 11th graders. All juniors, including juniors who are distance learners, are required to be on campus by 7:20 a.m. next week Tuesday. All 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will have a distance learning day with asynchronous learning experiences for all classes.

This letter explains the expectations for next week Tuesday, March 9th for all students.

If your students have any questions, please ask them to reach out to their advisory teacher or an administrator.
Learning Environment Changes For Term Four Will Be Shared Via IC March 5
As we move toward the start of the 4th term of the school year, the district is offering another opportunity for families to select either face-to-face or distance learning. The results of this survey will help determine each student's placement from April 6 - June 10.

NOTE: If you want your child's learning environment to stay as it is, you do not need to do anything. You only need to complete the survey if you are requesting a change in the learning environment.

If you have multiple children attending KM schools and would like to select different options for each, please complete this survey for each student. If all students in your family will have the same selection, you should complete this survey once and put all student names in the text box.

To access this survey log onto your district's Infinite Campus Parent Portal and select the survey link in your inbox.

This survey will be accepting responses from 03/05/2021 until 03/14/2021. Due to state testing and staffing needs there will not be changes considered after March 19th.
Parking Lot Safety Matters!
It is particularly important to reiterate safe parking lot procedures as we have extraordinary conditions that are unique to winters in Wisconsin. With that in mind:

  • Please encourage your students to leave early enough to arrive on time, and safely, all the time - all while taking into consideration the amount of time it takes to safely maneuver through the parking lot to their parking spot.
  • Parents and students must yield to buses leaving the parking lot on the south end of the building (as posted in the lot and on Oak Crest Drive).
  • Do not drop off / pick up on the east side of the Auditorium.
  • Do not use the "Buses ONLY" lane in front of the school between 7:00 am - 7:30 am M-Fri or 2:15 pm and 2:45 pm M, Tues, W, Fri and 1:45 pm - 2:15 pm on Th.

Please also discuss the message regarding parking lot safety that has been shared in the daily announcements this week with your student(s). Thank you!

KMHS Senior Masha D. Named Merit Finalist!
Congratulations to Kettle Moraine High School senior Masha Drapkin for being named a finalist in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Masha is in elite company! She was named as one of 16,000 semifinalists representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and included the highest scoring entrants in each state. To become a finalist and to be considered for a National Merit scholarship, each student was required to present an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed by their high school, and earn college entrance test scores that confirmed the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying SAT.

Congrats on this hard-earned award, Masha!
Ava C. Recognized By WSSP For Her Work On And Off The Field
KM Global's Ava C. was recently recognized as the WSSP AM 1250 Superhero of the Week! Her servant leadership is evident on and off the field. She has been a 4-year member of cross country and soccer, rocked the KM Rock Climbing Club, and was a stellar student advisory board member.

Ava also started the Kettle Moraine chapter of She's the First. There are currently 30 members within the club, which supports educational opportunities for low-income women in Ethiopia. She has also held internships with Citizens' Climate Lobby and Prairie Springs - two extremely important local environmental organizations!

Ava was recognized for her ability to make an impact and we couldn't agree more with WSSP AM 1250!
