Learning Environment Change Request Period: Oct. 19-23

The next opportunity to commit to a learning environment in KM schools will occur prior to the second quarter/term, which runs Nov. 9, 2020 through Jan. 22, 2021. A link to a change request form will be shared Oct. 19 and will be open through Oct. 23. Another opportunity to request a change in learning environment will occur in January, with the start of term 3.

If you plan to make a change, please consider the impact a potential quarantine might have on your family in the coming quarter/term and select the correct environment. Due to staffing needs and configurations:
  • Changes at the elementary level will likely cause reassignment of your child’s teacher and class configuration, regardless of your family's decision. In addition, changes in either direction will not be honored after October 23.
  • KM will not be able to honor changes at the middle and high school levels from distance learning to face-to-face learning after October 23.
  • At the high school level, selecting distance learning may alter your student’s term 2 course selections.
NOTE: This change request form is only necessary if you want to change your environment for the second quarter/term, which begins Nov. 9.
October 9th & 12th: All Students Learning Virtually

All students, both face to face and distance learners, will be engaged in distance learning on October 9th and October 12.

  • Teachers will not be meeting with students synchronously (live meetings), however work will be provided for your child to complete at home. October 9th and 12th are student learning days. Look for communication from our teachers next week.

  • Attendance will be determined by student work completion and participation in the activities provided by the teachers.

Fall Conferences:

Our students began preparing Google Slide presentations this week to highlight their learning and work so far as well as illustrate the learning platform they use each day. In the coming days, please find a time to have them present and discuss this with you at home.
There is a teacher conference form or links to sign up for a teacher conference in the slide presentation. Fill that form out and someone will reach out to set up a teacher conference.
Please email Maureen Hoffman at the front office if you have questions or need help with a conference issue.
