Help Us Keep KMMS Open

An important letter was shared this week from County Executive Paul Farrow, and the County Health Officer, Ben Jones, highlighting the rising number of Covid cases in our area, and asking residents to maintain vigilance in stopping the spread of the virus. They include a key paragraph about Covid in schools:

As cases continue to rise, we ask for your continued vigilance in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Currently, transmission of the virus in schools appears to be coming from outside of the facilities. The cases that are coming into schools appear to largely be a result of activities that are happening in the community and are the main drivers of quarantines that are impacting our classrooms. Social events like sleepovers, parties/gatherings, and athletics where proper measures are not enforced are driving exposures in classrooms.  Please take precautions to protect yourself and your family from contracting or spreading the virus during your activities in the community so that we can continue to provide in-person learning options for students.

As a KM community, we know the importance of spreading the message of kindness #KMKind. In an effort to expand our reach with this positive message, we have partnered with AlwaysBeKindLakeCountry.com to encourage everyone to choose kindness every day. “Always Be Kind” is not just a reminder for the students in our KM school district, but also for all members of our KM community.
We are encouraging everyone to join us in this initiative as we work to spread kindness all across the Kettle Moraine community. Please consider purchasing an “Always Be Kind” t-shirt, designed specifically for KM. AlwaysBeKindLakeCountry.com, the creator of the “Always Be Kind” initiative, has committed to supporting local school districts involved in spreading this positive message by donating 10% of each t-shirt sale back to each school that participates in order to support our kindness initiatives in Kettle Moraine.
Shirts can only be ordered online here. The sale runs through 11:59PM on Friday, November 20th.
We will be scheduling a district-wide "Always Be Kind" day in December after shirts have been delivered to all schools. 10% of every shirt sold for each school will be given back to the school for future kindness initiatives.
