A Spring Break Message from the Health Room Staff

Please include your child’s name, school, grade, and reason for the absence, someone from Health Services will reach out to you to discuss return to school.

Please drive slowly through the drop-off/pick up line and the parking lot. We are noticing that speeds have ramped up and have had some near misses recently.
KMMS Learning Environments for Last Quarter

The last quarter begins after Spring Break, on Tuesday, April 6th. Due to upcoming state testing preparation, we have finished our F2F and Distance rosters for the 4th term.

NOTE: Distance learners will need to come to KMMS to complete their Forward testing. The testing will begin Monday, April 12th. Distance families received an email from Mr. Comiskey this week about testing. If you have questions about your testing sign ups, please email or call Mrs. Peterson at 965-6500 ext. 2000.

Virtual Author Visit at KMMS

Some of our middle school students in had the opportunity to hear from KM Waldvogel this past week via Google Meet. Others students may have the same opportunity later this spring. We would like to thank Mrs. Veronica Davis-Quiroz of Orange Hat Publishing for helping to make the visit possible and for donating a few copies of Waldvogel's book, Spies, Soldiers, Couriers, & Saboteurs: Women of the American Revolution, to the school.
If your student is interested in purchasing a copy of the book, here are some options:
  • For a signed copy, families can email the author directly at waldvogelkm@gmail.com. Cost is $15 per book and includes taxes and shipping.
  • Families can also order directly from the website www.kmwaldvogel.com, and will be directed to Amazon. These copies would not be signed.

Water Bottles & Hydration at KMMS

Hydration is very important, especially due to our mask protocols. We want our students to bring water bottles and stay hydrated during the school day. We do have water bottle filling stations throughout the school.
Monster type energy drinks do not help with hydration and have caused issues and messes in the building.
Please discourage your students from bringing flavored, sugary and caffeinated beverages to school.
Thank you for your support.

Important Information Regarding COVID Testing
Dear KM Families,
There has been some confusion about PCR vs. antigen testing for COVID-19.
If a child stays home OR has been sent home with symptoms of COVID-19 and you wish to have them tested, KMSD requires a negative PCR test, which follows the CDC and Waukesha County guidelines for schools. This is for children with symptoms.

Not every doctor’s office automatically does PCR testing. Please verify the type of testing before having it done.

Documented proof of a negative PCR test is required before a child is allowed back in the classroom along with the child being symptom free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication.

Feel free to email your health staff or call the COVID-19 RN or Health Hotline, if you have any questions.

Thank you!
