Expectations for families with students who are enrolled in face to face (F2F) learning during term 1 at KMMS:
- Students enrolled in F2F learning are expected to attend in-person classes at KMMS every day. Class sizes and staffing were determined based on the selection of either F2F or Distance, and alterations cause considerable challenges for our systems and our teachers.
- If a student is required to quarantine due to COVID exposure, is in isolation due to a confirmed case of COVID, or is experiencing COVID-like symptoms that may be related to another illness, and they feel well enough to continue to attend class, they can do so through our distance learning model during the period of their quarantine/isolation/illness.
- These circumstances are communicated to teachers so they can be prepared for additional Distance learners.
If a F2F student attends virtually, and is not out of school due to quarantine/isolation/illness, they will be considered absent despite engaging in distance learning. An opportunity to change environments will occur second term/quarter, and information will be coming in October.
Thank you for your ongoing cooperation that allows our District to allow for two environments of learning during these challenging times. If you have any questions, please reach out with questions.
