Face to Face (F2F) Students
Thanks for a GREAT start to the school year!
  • Masks are required to be worn indoors at all times.

  • Masks are required to be worn on the school bus at all times.

  • If outside and proper physical distancing can not occur, masks need to be worn.

Parents, please have a conversation about these requirements with your child, specifically about the requirement when on the school bus.  We will have individual conversations with families if non-compliance continues and it can affect the student’s ability to continue to ride the bus.
Thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure everyone's safety.
Expectations for families with students who are enrolled in face to face (F2F) learning during term 1 at KMMS:

  • Students enrolled in F2F learning are expected to attend in-person classes at KMMS every day.  Class sizes and staffing were determined based on the selection of either F2F or Distance, and alterations cause considerable challenges for our systems and our teachers.
  • If a student is required to quarantine due to COVID exposure, is in isolation due to a confirmed case of COVID, or is experiencing COVID-like symptoms that may be related to another illness, and they feel well enough to continue to attend class, they can do so through our distance learning model during the period of their quarantine/isolation/illness.
  • These circumstances are communicated to teachers so they can be prepared for additional Distance learners.

If a F2F student attends virtually, and is not out of school due to quarantine/isolation/illness, they will be considered absent despite engaging in distance learning. An opportunity to change environments will occur second term/quarter, and information will be coming in October.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation that allows our District to allow for two environments of learning during these challenging times.  If you have any questions, please reach out with questions.

Thank you,
Michael Comiskey

New Course Offering! 7th grade Computer Science
Your child has the option to add an every other day Computer Science class during their elective time beginning at the end of September for the remainder of the year.
Watch this quick video for an overview of the course from our teacher, Mrs. Denise Olson.  Enrolling in this course will mean that your Music or Art class will switch from every day to every other day.
If your child is interested, please let us know by completing this short form by Friday, September 18th.  We will revise your child's schedule and the course will begin the week of September 28.
Lighten your load - Keep some things at school:

Parents - We have heard from some families that the load that our students are carrying in their backpacks are becoming difficult to haul around all day.  Students will be permitted to bring in a small tote in order to store some notebooks and other supplies at their cohort desk during the day and overnight.  Something the size of an adult shoe box will be helpful and easy for our cleaning service to move when they clean the rooms.  Something as large as milk crate would be too big.  Thanks for your patience as we work through this.

We are noticing an uptick in uncharged computers.  All computers need to come to school charged at 100%.  We are so sorry, but we do not have enough chargers, computers, or outlets to have students charge computers at school throughout the day.  If a computer loses charge during the school day, the student will be asked to take notes with pencil and paper on the presentation and finish the assignment at home that night.  Please help your student to remember to completely plug in their computer to an outlet that works each evening.

Thank you for your support!

Late Arrivals and Early Departures:

Please be sure to notify the office when you are bringing a student to school late or picking a student up early. Students should check in at the office when they arrive at school after 7:20 a.m. Students who need to leave school before 2:35 p.m., need to sign out at the office.

NEW! ONLINE ABSENCE REQUESTS: Parents/guardians will now be able to enter their student’s attendance directly in the Infinite Campus parent/guardian portal instead of calling the attendance office. Step-by-step guidance can be found here. Once the request is submitted, the attendance office receives an alert and finalizes the process from there.
The KMMS doors open at 7:00 a.m. Attendance is taken at 7:20 a.m.
Students should be picked up right after school.
Picture Retake Day F2F retake day will be Thursday, October 8th during the school day. If your student had his/her photo taken at another venue, the IDs should be delivered next week.
