The following message was sent to 6th grade Navigate families Thursday evening:

Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily moved the entire 6th grade Navigate house to distance learning until October 5 due to an outbreak of COVID-like symptoms among students. We are asking parents of 6th grade Navigate students to keep their child(ren) home and isolated.

To be clear—Siblings of 6 Navigate students may come to school. But if the 6N student becomes ill with COVID like symptoms, siblings should stay home.

We are aware that some of our 6 Navigate students may have items here at school that they need for their time of home learning. Please call the office to let us know what is needed and where those items can be located. We will have the items at the front office for pick up.

October 9th & 12th and Fall Conferences:

Please find information about two virtual learning days and our Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences by clicking on the image below.
Expectations for families with students who are enrolled in face to face (F2F) learning during term 1 at KMMS (repost from 9/11/20):

  • Students enrolled in F2F learning are expected to attend in-person classes at KMMS every day. Class sizes and staffing were determined based on the selection of either F2F or Distance, and alterations cause considerable challenges for our systems and our teachers.
  • If a student is required to quarantine due to COVID exposure, is in isolation due to a confirmed case of COVID, or is experiencing COVID-like symptoms that may be related to another illness, and they feel well enough to continue to attend class, they can do so through our distance learning model during the period of their quarantine/isolation/illness.
  • These circumstances are communicated to teachers so they can be prepared for additional Distance learners.

If a F2F student attends virtually, and is not out of school due to quarantine/isolation/illness, they will be considered absent despite engaging in distance learning. An opportunity to change environments will occur second term/quarter, and information will be coming in October.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation that allows our District to allow for two environments of learning during these challenging times. If you have any questions, please reach out with questions.
