Officers and Leaders Needed

The KMMS PTO is looking for your help! PTO plays a vital role in the school by helping to support key events throughout the year including Teacher Appreciation events, Book Fair, school dances, and financial grants to teachers along with a host of other activities.  PTO meetings offer a "window into KMMS" and serve to educate and inform parents about school programs and school resources. We're looking to fill two board positions for the 2022-23 school year. We have two returning board members who can show you the ropes and the time commitment is very modest -- includes monthly PTO meetings and ~2 hours per month outside those meetings. Parent involvement will help ensure we can continue to support the students and staff in the upcoming school year. Please reach out to anyone on the Board to learn more: Mary Hannes ([email protected]), Carri Baril ([email protected]), Debbie Vosburg ([email protected]) or Jessica Schultz ([email protected]).

HWY 67 Under Construction

As you may have seen by posted signs on HWY 67, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) will soon begin a significant project to improve HWY 67. The DOT provided a project website, where it states: “This project will be resurfacing 10 miles of pavement on WIS 67 between the Villages of Eagle and Dousman. Access will be maintained to all residences and businesses, as well as to the Kettle Moraine State Forest.”

The DOT told school officials they are planning to keep the road open for local traffic, so Highway 67 will not be entirely closed at any point. At times, there will be soft shutdowns with flaggers directing local traffic - which includes buses and staff/parent vehicles - for areas within the project, which will begin south and finish north in Dousman.

This resurfacing project, expected to be completed by mid-summer, does not affect our pick-up/drop-off patterns at Kettle Moraine Middle School. When the project gets closer to our Dousman/KMMS campus, we expect to experience some traffic delays/slower going.

For more information on the project, visit https://projects.511wi.gov/67/full-project-overview/.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
