HWY 67 Under Construction

As you may have seen by posted signs on HWY 67, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) will soon begin a significant project to improve HWY 67. The DOT provided a project website, where it states: “This project will be resurfacing 10 miles of pavement on WIS 67 between the Villages of Eagle and Dousman. Access will be maintained to all residences and businesses, as well as to the Kettle Moraine State Forest.”

The DOT told school officials they are planning to keep the road open for local traffic, so Highway 67 will not be entirely closed at any point. At times, there will be soft shutdowns with flaggers directing local traffic - which includes buses and staff/parent vehicles - for areas within the project, which will begin south and finish north in Dousman.

This resurfacing project, expected to be completed by mid-summer, does not affect our pick-up/drop-off patterns at Kettle Moraine Middle School. When the project gets closer to our Dousman/KMMS campus, we expect to experience some traffic delays/slower going.

For more information on the project, visit https://projects.511wi.gov/67/full-project-overview/.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Interim Report Cards Are Posted to IC

Teachers have posted interim grades through the third term to Infinite Campus. Please take a look, if you have not done so.

Check out your student's interim grade by logging into Infinite Campus! Look for the Term 3 Progress Grade.

An IP (instead of a letter grade) stands for “In Progress”, which means something is missing, below grade level, or not enough work has been completed to determine a letter grade. You will find a comment explaining the IP immediately below.

You also have the option to print a grade report. Go to Documents on the left side. The KMMS Report Card is a choice in the middle of the screen.

A reminder that middle school grades are continually updated until the completion of the course. For most of our classes, that means grades are final at the end of the school year in June. Also, not all of your child’s teachers utilize the same learning management platform for tracking progress. More progress details may be available in other places (Canvas, MyLC or Summit).

If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s teachers, whose emails are available in Infinite Campus (click on the course name in blue on the grade list). We are also here in the KMMS office to help you any time.
Forward Exams Continue!

Students at KMMS have begun taking part in our state test of learning, the Forward Exam.  Here is a short brochure providing more information. A few tips for making sure your student is prepared:
  • They are representing themselves and our school - encourage them to try their Laser best.
  • There are ABSOLUTELY no cell phones or digital watches allowed in the testing environment. No exceptions. Teachers will make sure that all devices are put away in bags or lockers (not pockets).
  • Students will be using their school issued Chromebooks or a loaner from the library. Chromebooks need to be charged.
