Snow Days will become Virtual Days

Here at KMMS we will not close in the case of extreme weather conditions. We will instead have our classes occur virtually through Google Meets. Families will be notified of these instances via district communication. Our middle school team has assembled this plan for those days.

We look forward to maintaining learning continuity and growth during any distance learning. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr. Comiskey.
Choir Concert Next Week

The KMMS choir will have their first concert on Tuesday, December 14th @ 7 p.m. in the KM High School auditorium. Students should be in the auditorium by 6:15 for warm-ups. Doors will open for seating at 6:45.

Concert dress includes our choir t-shirts with all black formal wear on the bottom. This includes dress pants, long skirts, or knee-length skirts with tights or leggings underneath. Black socks and dress shoes also.

What is a Hold?
A hold means that staff and students are asked to remain in the classrooms and keep the hallways clear until a situation or incident is resolved. Reasons for this can vary:

  • We might be assisting someone with a medical need or dealing with a behavior issue
  • We may want to keep our hallways clear until an individual can be assisted safely and confidently to the office or health room
  • We may have a significant spill to clean up in a hallway
  • A building hold may also be used when local law enforcement is dealing with something in the community

This year so far, we have had more holds than in recent years. We do our best to minimize the disruptions to the typical school day while attending to these situations.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact either Mr. Comiskey ( @kmsd.edu) or Mrs. Lloyd ( @kmsd.edu).

Lost and Found

Our KMMS lost and found box is overflowing with items that need their owners. Please encourage your student to check out the tables in the entryway within the next few weeks. All unclaimed items will be donated before the holiday break.
Time for our 8th graders
to Think about High School Choices
Middle school students and their parents/guardians are invited to info sessions at Kettle Moraine High School to learn more about the tremendous educational choices offered on the Kettle Moraine High School Campus.
LASER LOCKER

If you haven't stopped at the Laser Locker on the KMHS campus yet this year, please do so! A lot has changed! Hours vary during the week, and are usually based on events/happenings at the high school.

We carry lots of KM clothing choices and accessories. All of our items are "KM" items, but the store is not school or sport specific.
Cash and credit cards are gladly accepted. Follow the HS Facebook page or check the HS website for store hours.
This is a great place to purchase authentic KM gear, especially for birthdays and holidays!

Camp Invention

Summer 2022 Camp Invention will be offered at KM. Students in grades 1-6 will enjoy a week of STEM fun, building and creating. During this dynamic, high-energy program, young innovators will:

• Dive into cutting-edge ocean research as they adopt their own robotic fish, design and
patent aquatic plants, and take their fish friend home in a mini tank.

• Discover real space exploration technology when they create Spacepacks and AstroArm devices, mine an asteroid and observe erupting ice volcanoes.

• Combine science and art to build their own robotic artist, engage in design thinking,
make spin art and learn how inventions can change the way people create.

• Experiment with the fun of physics, engineering and gaming as they design, build and
test their own mega marble arcades.

Early registration discounts available! Register using SUM35 by 02/16 to save $35 off the $270 registration fee.
