8th Graders:
Time to Register for 9th grade

We are reaching out to share a few reminders about the 2022-23 high school selection process. Students who are interested in a charter school for high school should apply by Friday, January 21, 2022 at noon.

Families will be notified of acceptance from charter schools no later than January 24. 

For students who will be attending Kettle Moraine High School, please mark your calendar for the KMHS Course Information Night on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 5:30-7:30pm. On this evening you will learn about course opportunities and the registration process. KMHS teachers will be available to answer questions about their content area course offerings. Course Information Night is not a required event but rather another way to offer support throughout this process.

Carson Scholars Program Award Nominee

KMMS is proud to name 8th grader Emma Manion as our nominee for the 2022 Carson Scholars Program award. The purpose of the Carson Scholars Program is to recognize and reward outstanding students in the United States who exemplify academic excellence and humanitarian qualities. Emma is being honored for her extensive community service work, including many hours spent serving the homeless and residents of senior living communities. Emma has also proven herself a leader within our school through her high academic achievement, her involvement as a student ambassador, and her status as an example for younger students. Way to go, Emma!  
January PTO Meeting - January 20, 2022

The January PTO meeting will be Thursday, January 20 from 9-10:30am here at KMMS. Our focus will be Math - We'll visit some classrooms and discuss our observations afterward. There will be no quizzes or fractions involved.

Sentry Receipts

Please collect your Albrect's Sentry receipts to support Kettle Moraine Middle School PTO!
Please send in your Albrect's Sentry receipts throughout the rest of the year. Albrect's Sentry will give back 1% of receipt totals collected. Receipts can be dropped off in the front office in the designated collection container. This is a quick and easy way to support KMMS PTO. Thank you to Albrect's Sentry for supporting our community!

The Marcus Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee celebrates Dr. King’s Birthday annually since 1984. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration programming highlights the youth in our community who every year interpret Dr. King’s words through art, speech, and writing contests.

Snow Days will become Virtual Days

Here at KMMS we will not close in the case of extreme weather conditions. We will instead have our classes occur virtually through Google Meets. Families will be notified of these instances via district communication. Our middle school team has assembled this plan for those days.

Camp Invention

Summer 2022 Camp Invention will be offered at KM. Students in grades 1-6 will enjoy a week of STEM fun, building and creating. During this dynamic, high-energy program, young innovators will:

• Dive into cutting-edge ocean research as they adopt their own robotic fish, design and
patent aquatic plants, and take their fish friend home in a mini tank.

• Discover real space exploration technology when they create Spacepacks and AstroArm devices, mine an asteroid and observe erupting ice volcanoes.

• Combine science and art to build their own robotic artist, engage in design thinking,
make spin art and learn how inventions can change the way people create.

• Experiment with the fun of physics, engineering and gaming as they design, build and
test their own mega marble arcades.
