Hello KMMS families,

Has anyone else felt like January has been a long and difficult month? I believe it has been long and difficult for our students as well. So what do we do as adults - the parents, the coaches, and the teachers in our students' lives? We keep talking to them. We don’t let the conversations stop. We stay curious and ask questions while doing our absolute best to not pass judgment. If we’re quick to harsh judgment, we close lines of communication and never help our students learn to deal with their problems. We can’t help them solve all of their problems, but it helps when our students are able to talk about what’s going on in their lives.

It can’t be easy to be a parent in 2023. Thank you for all you're doing to support your Lasers.

Have a great weekend,

Matt Kitzerow
