Business Ethics # 4:
The Stockbroker
|
Rabbi Biberfeld leads a discussion group on interesting questions relating to business ethics and their halachic ramfications. This lively interactive class places thought provoking, professional, ethical dilemmas within the framework of halachic discussion. Feel free to come and enjoy!
Shabbos afternoon at 5:15 at the Kollel, followed by Mincha at 6:00.
Topic:
The Stockbroker
Reuven authorized his stockbroker, Shimon to purchase $100,000 of shares in Company A. Shimon felt that Company A did not look promising so he decided instead to purchase shares in Company B which he felt would be more profitable. In the end Shimon was right and while Company A went down 20%, Company B went up 30%.
Is Shimon, who is paid on a commission basis, entitled to a higher wage based on the profit?
