KRA’s Innovation Lab Explores Artificial Intelligence | |
KRA’s Innovation Lab Team recently participated in the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) Virtual AI Academy, a three-day immersive learning experience held February 24-26. This academy reinforced an important reality for today’s workforce industry: artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a future concept, it is current tool already transforming how work is done.
The Innovation Lab was created to explore and lead bold ideas that strengthen how KRA functions and serves our communities. Innovation Lab members collaborate across departments, pilot emerging tools, brainstorm and prototype solutions, and provide feedback that helps shape how KRA evolves. These employees are passionate about improving KRA’s systems, technology, and user experience through ongoing innovation.
NAWDP’s Virtual AI Academy aligned closely with this mission, and proved to be a wonderful opportunity for our Innovation Lab Team. Designed specifically for Workforce Professionals, the academy focused on instilling confidence in participants, and exploring the practical application of AI in real-world settings.
Over three information-packed days, participants built a strong foundation in how AI works and why it matters for workforce development, explored practical tools that support communication, documentation, research, and customer service, and learned strategies for implementing and scaling AI in ways to align with their organization.
Building on this momentum, KRA will host a Live Learning Event for staff titled “Artificial Intelligence: Workforce Development Uses & Tools” on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. This interactive session will cover topics such as: AI in Workforce Development, Practical Use of AI Chatbots, Writing Effective Prompts, hands-on practice, and The Future of AI. This event invites staff to explore new AI tools and practical uses for everyday workforce development tasks.
These learning initiatives reflect KRA’s commitment to innovation, responsible technology use, and continuous improvement. By investing in AI capability today, KRA is positioning its staff, and the communities we serve, to thrive in the evolving workforce landscape of tomorrow!
