PPI’s implemented results

If you scroll to the bottom of the PPI home page, you can find the savings achieved by companies that participated in PPI’s programs and implemented projects as a result. The data comes from our intern program, technical assistance offered through our pollution prevention, source reduction and SBEAP programs, and various other projects.

There is still time to secure a 2025 summer intern!

Our nonregulatory summer program helps Kansas businesses:

  • Reduce emissions and compliance burdens
  • Decrease waste
  • Improve sustainability
  • Save money

Interns are paid $23 per hour (plus fringe), and cost-share opportunities are available for qualified companies.

Email Cris Brazil, the intern program coordinator for more information or apply now to be a host company.

Featured case study

Manko Window Systems in Manhattan specializes in custom glass products such as aluminum windows, entrances, storefronts and curtain walls. This was Manko’s first time hosting a PPI intern. Abby Ness investigated new machinery, lighting and compressed air to evaluate potential projects. Manko recognizes the importance of pollution prevention and its connection to cost savings and company benefits. Check out the full case summary or watch Ness' presentation of results.
