The 2024 PPI summer internship program concluded with the annual symposium Aug. 2, where interns shared their experiences and recommendations that will assist their host companies in reducing water usage, chemical waste and energy. Industrial Environment Sustainability Practices intersession course available for CEUs

CE690, a three-day course that covers real-world strategies to reduce industrial pollution is available to take for professional development hours. Explore water and energy conservation, hazardous-waste reduction and air-emissions control through Kansas case studies and hands-on experience with industry-standard tools. Learn to assess environmental impacts and calculate cost-saving benefits that protect both the environment and human health. The cost for taking CE690 for professional development is $300. Online hazardous waste training


Hazardous waste handlers are required to complete training annually, and new employees must be trained within six months of taking a position that requires they handle hazardous waste. This training needs to be documented and maintained for at least three years. PPI offers online training that includes a certificate of completion for $50 per user.
